It's a social dance! With purpose.

Short Version: It's a social dance where the dancers are actively involved in giving their feedback on the music.

Long Version: A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... the music at a WCS dance varied by location. Regional communities each had a flavor to the music that they played, and the dancers in the communities influenced their DJs. This dance is an experiment to bring back dancers influencing the music that a DJ puts in a music set. With the expanded number of national events and the Internet, local social dances have turned into smaller clones of the bigger events. We want to create a new "NC Sound" for local dances. Come out and help us do that!

This social dance provides opportunities for you, The Dancer, to give feedback on a wide variety of music throughout the event. We want a dozen (12) dancers who will be the "primary critics/judges". These critics are given a prepared scoresheet to track a wide variety of music throught the dance. They are scoring each song through the social dance. Please reach out to us if you want to be one of the critics.

In addition, the event includes a couple of other methods designed for every one there to vote on the music and mix as a whole. We want everyone to be involved.

Online tickets are available (below) for $10 through Sunday, February 15th. Otherwise, tickets are available at the door for $15.
